Jesse is an artist in the truest sense of the word. His clients frequently comment that they
really enjoyed the experience of watching Jesse perform their haircut, because
of his theatrical nature. This quality has gained him quite a following of
regular clientele, and he continues to add to that cache every time he performs
a service. After fine tuning his skills
for ten years in some of New York City’s finest salons, he joined the Parlor
team in 2013 ready to add his own style and flair.
Jesse is incredibly passionate about AVEDA, as he was
trained at the AVEDA Institute in Soho, and has continued to pursue his
knowledge of the brand throughout his career. In addition to his beautifully
artistic haircuts, he is an extraordinary barber, and a spectacular hair
colorist. Jesse’s work was recently featured on MTV’s All Access, and
throughout his career he has had the pleasure of working on a variety of
celebrity clients.
Although he really enjoys showcasing his work on a national
platform, he thrives on providing high end service to all of his clients here
in the salon. He loves having the opportunity to make someone’s day with a
fabulous new look, and to pass on his extensive knowledge of hair tips that can
be taken home and used daily.

The actual technique can vary from stylist to stylist. Back combing is
the most widely used, along with balayage painting and free form highlights. Because
there are so many "looks" with Ombre, it is essential to have a
lengthy consultation with your stylist, and to bring in many pictures of the
exact look that you're going for. Many guests entertain the
idea of Ombre because of its low maintenance upkeep. Since the technique calls
for the lightening of ones ends, the dreaded roots aren't much of a concern. In
general, guests that I perform the Ombre technique on only have to come in
every 4-6 months for brightening, or reapplication if they've received a
haircut. Most of the true maintenance is up to the guest with at home care. The
biggest issue with Ombre is that you are lightening the ends of the hair, which
are the most fragile and most prone to damage or dryness. It's crucial that Ombre
guests take home a leave in conditioner and dry or damage repair shampoo. My
favorites are Aveda Dry Remedy or Aveda Damage Remedy.
